Phase Conductor

Cables manufactured in bare aluminium, hard, class A stranding.

Insulation

Constituted by Thermoplastic (PE) or Thermoset (XLPE) Polyethylene.

Identification

Phase conductors can be identified as follows:

  • By numbers printed on the insulation.
  • By colors (phases with different colors)
  • By fillets

Neutral Conductor

For cables with cross-sections from 10mm2 to 25mm2 (including) must use aluminium cables, hard, with no steel core (AAC).

For cables with cross-sections above 35mm2 (including) must use 6201 alloy aluminium cables (AAAC).

NEXANS is able to manufacture multiplex cables with neutral conductor in aluminium cable with steel core, and cables with insulated neutral.

Packing

Multiplex cables are packed in wooden reels, manufactured in compliance with ABNT NBR 11137 standard. They can also be supplied in rolls. In this case, their weight must be limited to 40kg.
