The utilization of bare conductors in aerial power distribution lines, in tree regions leads to frequent disconnections due to eventual contact between tree branches with the conductor.

To solve this problem, NEXANS by its industrial plant at Americana-SP, manufactures the cross-linked polyethylene covered (XLPE) aluminium cable for medium voltage(25kV).

The XLPE covered aluminium cable - 25kV Voltage Class is constituted by a compact round conductor, composed by aluminium strands, blocked or not, with or without semi-conductive shielding and with a cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) covered in black or gray color, with special characteristics to be resistant against electric tracking and UV-rays.

As XLPE is a thermoset material, it enables operation up to 90°C continuously implying in higher ampacity when compared to the thermoplastic materials.

NEXANS covered cable enables an harmonious living between power line facilities and environment.

APPLICATION

In aerial primary power distribution lines located in tree regions or where higher safety and reliability are required.
